Afternoon Presentations
History of the Burlington and Lamoille Railroad

Presenter: Jerry Fox, Vermont Historian

Local historian and railroad authority Jerry Fox will present information on the history of the Burlington and Lamoille Railroad. Jerry will discuss the origin of the railroad, the locations of the track and depots, and hurdles encountered with its construction and use. He will also cover the railroad's demise and the reasons behind the demise, and share information on the location of historical maps and pictures of the railroad.

Update on the CORS Network in Vermont

Presenter: Lloyd MacCormack, Right-of-Way Agent, Vermont Agency of Transportation

Lloyd will discuss the state's Continually Operating Reference System (CORS) network and its ongoing applications for land surveyors. Surveyors who collect GPS data can use CORS data to improve the precision of their positions. CORS-enhanced coordinates approach a few centimeters relative to the National Spatial Reference System.
